Creating landing pages for websites with stationary navigation

 July 21, 2015
by Flavio Mester

Page properties

The Special tab of the Page properties dialog allows you to hide specific elements of a page; that can be useful if you’re creating landing pages for promotional campaigns, for instance. However, if your website uses stationary navigation and you wanted to hide it, it was necessary to include a bit of CSS code on the page, using an Embed Code content block.

We have now added the ability to do that without any coding even for stationary navigation websites. All you need to do is uncheck the Main navigation (all) box.

Your Web Department now generates more efficient Google XML Sitemaps

 July 2, 2015
by Flavio Mester

SEOA Google XML Sitemap can be a very useful tool in your overall SEO strategy. It's a file listing all the pages in your website that you can submit to Google, helping it index your website faster and more efficiently, and ultimately bring in more traffic.

Sitemaps are a way to tell Google about pages on your site we might not otherwise discover. Creating and submitting a Sitemap helps make sure that Google knows about all the pages on your site, including URLs that may not be discoverable by Google's normal crawling process.

YWD's Google XML Sitemap tool automatically generates the XML Sitemap file for you, so you can then submit it to Google. And if your website has a mobile-optimized version you can submit a Google XML Sitemap for Mobile as well.

We have now tweaked our tool to take into account 404/Page Not Found URLs. We’ve also fixed an issue that occurred when page titles contained certain special characters like the trademark symbol.
