Targeting pages

By default, a link to all published (and not hidden) pages will be displayed on the live website navigation no matter which device is being used to view the website. But you may target specific devices if you want, so that the link to the page will only be seen by people using that device.

Assigning a page
to a particular device

Whenever you add a new page or edit an existing one, you can specify which device should display it. You do that right from the Navigation tab of the Page properties form. For instance, here we're telling YWD™ to only show this page if the person viewing the website is on a computer (and not using an iPhone, BlackBerry or Android device):

Mobile - content block position

Identifying targeted pages
in the back-end

In the example below we have two pages. This first one has been set to target computers only, so its link will not be added to the navigation when the website is viewed on an iPhone/BackBerry/Android device. Notice the large blue 'computers only!' icon. The site navigation also shows a small blue icon just beside the page name:

Mobile - computer-only page (back-end)

This other page is targeting iPhone/Adroid devices. Notice the 'iPhone/BlackBerry/Android only!' green icon:

Mobile - iPhone/Android page (back-end)

Tip: This technique will also allow you to "hide" a page from a device altogether.
For example, you may have a page that's very deep in the site architecture that you'd rather hide from mobiles.
