Using a mobile-optimized version

By targeting content blocks or pages you can determine which content people will see when on a device. But if want, you can also change the look and feel of the website on mobiles.
You use YWD Designer™ for that.

How to go from this:

To this:

Mobile - default Mobile - optimized

Launch YWD Designer™
and select the 'Mobile devices' tab

The Overall settings under Smartphones section contains the basic look and feel choices for your website when seen on iPhones, BlackBerry and Android devices. By default, it looks similar to this:

The default setting that's used for when people view the website on a mobile is called 'Shrink all the content automatically'. With this setting the website will look basically the same as it does on a computer, but all the content will shrink automatically in order to fit the phone's small viewport.

Now click on the other mobile icon – 'Use mobile-optimized version'. This setting, while having absolutely no effect on computers, will make it look quite different when the actual website is viewed on smartphones.

Mobile - Designer - overall 2

The same website, once it goes live, will then look this on an iPhone:
