Layout elements to display on the page

This group includes options that allow you to hide specific elements of the page layout that normally would be shown by default. They'll be hidden only for the page whose properties you're editing; no other page will be affected.

Field Notes
Banner

Hides the whole banner area. The space is reclaimed.

Left column Hides the whole left column including vertical navigation or content, if any. The space is reclaimed.
Right column Hides the whole right column including any content. The space is reclaimed.
Header blocks Hides the header area and any content blocks placed there. The space is reclaimed.
Footer blocks Hides the footer area and any content blocks placed there. The space is reclaimed.
Top navigation Hides the top navigation area. The space is reclaimed.
Main navigation Hides the main navigation area, whether it's been defined as horizontal or vertical in YWD Designer. The space is reclaimed.
Bottom navigation Hides the bottom navigation area. The space is reclaimed.
Bredcrumbs Hides the breadcrumb navigation, if you've chosen to display them in YWD Designer. The space is reclaimed.
Global content (before) If you have set any content blocks to appear globally before the others, it will not appear on this specific page.
Global content (after) If you have set any content blocks to appear globally after the others, it will not appear on this specific page.
Bottom widgets Hides any bottom widgets (e.g. "Email this page" etc.) defined in YWD Designer. The space is reclaimed.
Floating side tabs
Hides any floating side tabs (e.g. Facebook floating tab, etc.) defined in YWD Designer. The space is reclaimed.

Tip: You can also hide certain elements of the page only when you link to it i.e. without affecting the page itself. Check this advanced tip for more information.

Facebook/Pinterest thumbnail image

If visitors ‘like’ or ‘pin’ the page, this image is the one that will appear on people's Facebook walls and Pinterest boards.

 

Special pages

These options allow you to assign special behaviours to the page.

 

Field Notes
Open popup window

The URL you place here will open automatically in a popup window the first time the page is loaded. If using an internal page of your website, make sure you use the full URL of the page from the LIVE website. You can modify aspects of popup windows – their size, how often they should be launched – in the website’s Design settings.

Force computer on mobile? If ‘yes’ the page will use the computer (i.e. non-optimized) look and feel on mobile, even if you have enabled the mobile-optimized option for the website in the website’s Design settings.
