Setting up Mac Mail

Configuring Mac Mail

  1. Click on the Mail menu and select Preferences.

  2. Click on the plus sign to add a new account.

  3. You may be prompted to select the type of account to add. Select Add Other Mail Account and click Continue.

  4. Enter the following:

    Full Name: enter your name as you want it to appear on outgoing messages
    Email Address: enter your full email address
    Password:  enter your email password

    Click Next.
     
  5. Enter the following Incoming Mail Server Info settings:

    Account Type: select IMAP
    Mail Server:  mail.hostedemail.com
    User Name: enter your full email address
    Password:  enter your email password

    Click Next.
  6. You may be presented a screen similar to the one below. Leave the defaults and click Next.


     
  7. Enter the following Outgoing Mail Server Info settings:

    SMTP Server: mail.hostedemail.com
    User Name: enter your full email address
    Password:  enter your email password

    Click Create.

    If Apple Mail hangs while verifying the settings then you can click Cancel then click Continue to proceed.

    Click Create.
     
  8. The account configuration is complete. Close the Accounts window and you're done!
    You can now send and receive email using your new IMAP email account.

If for any reason it is still not connecting please confirm that the Inbound SSL port is set to 993 and the Outbound SSL port is set to 465.
