Our DOCTYPE and HTML tags have been updated

HTML5 logoWe’re updating all the documents generated by the YWD platform in order to make them compatible with HTML5 standards. Part of that involves changing our DOCTYPE and HTML tags, and that’s already done. By the end of the process, YWD websites will have leaner and more modern code which will allow us to implement additional responsive design techniques.

This change has no effect over the mobile-optimized version of YWD websites, which already use the latest tags.

For legacy websites that are used to entering images in a particular way, we've made an option available in YWD Designer / Tools / Advanced / Accessibility & SEO that lets clients choose the old DOCTYPE tag that's compatible with HTML4 and XHTML.
